Held at the Lake House in Calgary, Alissa and Cameron’s wedding was a perfect intimate gathering of 50 that blended their heritages together. While Cameron got ready with his groomsmen at his family home, Alyssa and her bridesmaids prepared for the day at The Wedding Study, a gorgeous light filled space in the heart of downtown Calgary.

The couple opted for a first look at the Memorial Library and bridal party photos. With all the photos taking place prior to the ceremony (as the ceremony and reception were in the same location), Alissa and Cam were able to mingle with guests immediately after tying the knot.

With the backdrop of the Lake House’s stunning fireplace decorated with flowers by Incredible Florist, Alissa and Cameron accompanied by their parents walked down the aisle into a new chapter of their life together.

In order for Alyssa and Cam spend the most time with their guests, we planned a schedule that made sure we weren’t back tracking away from the venue, and with the help of Chemistry Events, were able to coordinate a seamless transition from ceremony to reception in record time.
As Chemistry Events took care of everything and coordinated with the Lake House and other vendors, Alissa and Cam only had to worry about having fun and enjoying the day with friends and family.
Working with a team who can ensure that you’re not the one everyone is running to on your wedding day is such a boon. Even hiring a day of coordinator who serves as a touchstone for anyone that has questions is so key on taking the stress off of your shoulders so you can focus on celebrating.

Following the ceremony and entrance into their reception, guests were treated to a Lion Dance performance as an homage to Alissa’s heritage and the celebration of bringing two cultures together as the Lion Dance is meant to send the happy new couple best wishes and luck.

After speeches, Alissa and Cam cut their wedding cake lovingly made by Cam’s sister Kirsten, and the dance floor was opened with some very heartfelt moments.
Cameron and his mother performed a jig that shared their love for dancing and a good time, and Alyssa and her father danced an emotional father-daughter dance that left not a dry eye in the room.
